Readers following this series may be a bit confused with me stating “eBOOK Completed” in the title so I will pull a few loose threads together to form a more coherent picture.

I had written the basic story during the summer of 2018, and in March 2019 had all the various pieces of the puzzle (Challenge #5, #6 & #7) completed in order to finish a truly interactive e-book. The storyline referenced an online inventory and a full-on workshop — incorporating case studies which I had not developed in 2018. However, now with the workshop designed, I was able to reference specific case studies in the story. (Case studies I could also use in an actual online course!)

The fictional characters (composites of people I had met or worked with during my six years in the Philippines) also had to have completed the inventory at different stages of the story. I ‘did’ their inventory based on their knowledge skill from my developing their characterization and was therefore able to produce reports that could go in the book. I also created a number of the basic graphical elements that are mentioned throughout the book.

So now I was ready to go. BUT asked myself, “How the hell do I get this published, or do I publish it myself?” I put some stuff out there on LinkedIn and medium and got a few nibbles. I had some people look at it and thought it was really good… and then the interest just sort of died.

Here we are in mid 2020 and I’ve got a couple other people who actually are going through the manuscript to look at it … so who knows? Bottom line is it is done! And have moved onto other writing projects while I figure out what to do with it.

ACTION POINT: What ‘unfinished’ creative works might you need to finish?
