Most adults have some form of comfort food. I have seen this in all the cities / countries I have lived in. I even ask others when we are out at restaurants about it to break the ice. Mine is some form of roast meat with mashed or roasted potatoes & gravy. The smell, taste and overall experience transport me back to days when life was much less complicated. Maybe that is why they call it ‘comfort food’?

The 21st century equivalent of this is some form of digital (or device) comfort food. Yes I am talking about hardware. People seem lost without their mobile phones. Others feel stranded if they forget their chargers. For me it is the feeling I get when my Mac Mini starts up. After 8 months of being without my own computer I was in ecstasy the first time I fired up the new Mac Mini with the M1 chip. It was screaming fast and I had all my Apple apps and OS settings running.
