This is a bit of a deeper dive into my last post (3-months ago) about sample downloads as a hook when the full product is not ready. Why do this? Though my 5_STAR Filipinos book was finished, I was still struggling with how to publish it. I had a few indie publishers show interest in 2021, but they only wanted to do a print version. The book needs to be digital as there are a number of internal and external links that provide essential context to the storyline. Thus I set up a ‘book sample’ and made chapter One available.

Purpose?

• Expert: One way to use downloads is to your subject matter expertise in a particular field. I successfully did this many times via Linkedin posts in 2016/2017. Though it did increase my followers (2.5K — 25K), it did not bring them indo a mailing list of my own control as I had no website at the time.
